The Vanishing Workforce: Recruitment, Retention, Compensation, Career Ladder and More

Join EveryChild California for an in-depth discussion on the vanishing early care and education workforce. Representatives from the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment, University of Berkeley will present the results of the 2018 ECE Workforce Index and highlight how the data is being used to advance advocacy efforts.  They will also share how the results of the study can help us deepen our public policy agenda, to increase compensation, wages and professionalism within the industry.

Community College faculty will present on the actions they’re taking to recruit future ECE teachers and the strategies they’re employing to attract new talent and retain them in the field.

Recommendations from the Assembly Blue Ribbon Commission on Early Education’s Report on compensation and workforce will be discussed on how to stabilize and the future of the workforce in California. There will be substantial time for questions and answers and peer networking.
