Association Profile & History
Discover the background, organizational structure, and historic role of our association across California.
The California Child Care Coordinators Association (CCCCA) is a professional association of child care coordinators representing cities, counties, federal entities, and local child care planning councils from around the state.
Supported by a dedicated Executive Committee consisting of co-chairs, secretary, treasurer, past co-chairs, and committee chairs, the CCCCA serves as a vital forum for sharing ECE knowledge and information, providing local leadership, and organizing resources to solve field issues.
Our activities are bolstered by various working committees, including the Public Policy Committee, which establishes a policy platform each year; the Data Committee, which works on local and state planning data metrics; and the Communications Committee, which handles member listservs, websites, and outreach.
Quarterly Meetings
The CCCCA convenes four times annually to review ECE policy shifts, share regional planning models, and organize training.
To fulfill its mission, the CCCCA:
- Acts as a forum for the sharing of knowledge and information among members;
- Provides leadership and resources in identifying and addressing key issues;
- Promotes the professional development, education, and training of its members;
- Identifies opportunities for joint projects and collaborative efforts;
- Assists local child care planning councils to meet state mandates;
- Acts as a voice for communicating issues to local governments, CDE, the legislature, and the public;
- Works with the California Department of Education on establishing ECE policies and priorities;
- Assists city and county child care coordinators in advising local governments on creating land use policies to support child care facilities development.
"Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see."
