New Reports Highlight the Importance of Mixed-Delivery Care and Learning Opportunities.

Posted By: Adam North News and Updates,

A number of important reports have been published over the past several weeks. The common theme between them points to something that many of us already know, the mixed-delivery early learning and care model is the best, and only way to provide equitable, accessible, high-quality, opportunities for children and families.

This is a vital moment for our field as we look to the year ahead. All of you have an important role in serving the needs of your community, and so we all must work together to elevate opportunities that support family choice. We all have responsibilities as early learning and care leaders to ensure that all programs serving young learners have a seat at the table.

These reports point toward the need for increased opportunities for partnerships between CBOs and LEAS under the UPK umbrella, the need for increased funding to support the true cost of care for all subsidized programs, support to provide developmentally appropriate support for 4-year-olds in all settings, an increased investment to support programs seeking to serve infants and toddlers, and how governance can be reimagined to support CA’s diverse needs.

As we gear up for an active legislative season, consider how you see your own communities in these reports, and how you can leverage the data within them to advocate for your own community of children, families and workforce.

Thank you for all you do!
